About the Skatium
The Skatium is owned and operated by Haverford Township. Celebrating 47 years of service to the community.
Skatium Facts:
- The Skatium opened its doors on September 20,1974.
- Membership was first limited to Township residents only.
- The Skatium name came from a Township-wide contest, the winner was 12 year old Michael Steinberg.
- The cost to build the facility was $1.5 million. The mortgage was paid off in 1994.
- The first Director of the Skatium was Dennis Ott. Dave "The Hammer" Schultz was the Skatium's Director in the early and mid 90's.
- The Skatium has been Voted the Best Place to Skate and Play Ice Hockey in Delaware County for numerous years
