Chief Gary E. Hoover

Chief Hoover proudly served the Haverford Township community since 1969. He graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy, Hershey, PA, in 1971. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1977 and assigned to the Patrol Division. In 1984 he was assigned as the Supervisor of the Highway Safety Unit/Special Response Team. He was promoted to Patrol Lieutenant in 1991. As a Lieutenant he attended the 172nd Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He was promoted to Chief of Police in 1993. Chief Hoover retired May 1st 2008 after 40 years of dedicated service to the residents of Haverford Township.
